front brake noises

front brake noises
I'll try to explain this... My 2011 LS has only 7000 miles
I think my brakes are fine, seem to stop fine. But sometimes I get a noise I have never heard from brakes before. The HHR is a smaller vehicle than I am used to driving, so it may fall under smaller vehicles make different sounds.
Just at slower speeds 30 and under - braking to a stop I get a sound from the front that sounds like something rubbing on the tire treads. A rubber buzzing sound. I looked in the wheel wells and dont see anything that looks like it is rubbing.
I did find a drip of a rubber sealant hanging down like a big booger, but cut that off. and still get this noise.
Hate to schedule a dealer appointment just to be told it's nothing, since it works fine. any ideas?

I have never heard anything like that, I would take it in, you are probably right, they always seem to say, they couldn't find anything. But it is documented that you brought it in for something in that area, so if what ever it is goes south later, you can say, see, I told you so.

X2.....
Anything you discover that's "odd" on a car that new and with such low miles, run it by the dealer first even if you expect a "couldn't find anything" response it will at least be documented in their system.

Ya, your all right I should.. just in case
It only does it when I brake firmly from a lower speed. But not hard enough to set off the ABS. Probably never would have even noticed it, if it wasn't for the bicycle jockey that tipped himself over in front of me a while back.
I just know it'll be like when I went to the Doc the other day. My arm hurts when I do this, " Then don't do that"
