Front Passenger Door Lock

Front Passenger Door Lock
For some reason my front door lock stopped working back just after the HHR BBQ that didn't happen.. I have a pair of smoothie locks, but no difference in size or anything. I had tried to fix it myself thinking the hole was too small, as mentioned elsewhere.. but no. I have to hit the unlock button and try and pull up on the lock to get it up... suggestions?

One guy has this problem. I wrote to him today.

I can advise is the same. Disassembly, Inspection.
As a pathologist says, "The opening is shows ..".

inner cover of doors removed fairly easily. But there is one problem - the clip. These bastards are broken, you must be careful if you want to use them again. (I bought a pair of kits special in reserve.)
Of cose, If you have free time. If not - always there is a possibility visit to the dealer, can not be expensive.
If we talk about reason I can only assume. On my HHR was not this problem. But when I had a Lada, the car gave me trouble with the lock. The reason - the wear of joints of the drive. Plastic connector is weak, due to vibration, as a result - the offset drive of lock and skew the whole system. I had no desire to solve the problem quickly (i limit to only the grease) and lost more money because the whole system came into disrepair.

There is a TSB out there for this Kev, but I'm not sure if its what you have going on since the issue just cropped up. Here's the link, check out Post #150.

You might have a problem with the wiring harness going into that particular door, or something as simple as the connector falling off of the actuator due to vibration while driving. If you aren't sure about pulling the inner door panel yourself, you can always have the dealer check it out...for a price of course.
