Fuel door popper

Last week my little push in/out popper on the fuel door broke. Does anyone know the part # for this?

You need part number 25880365 which GM calls a "spring", list price is $26.14. Your dealer should have the part or you can check online.

It appears that the part number has been changed to 20912532. The good news is that the list price has dropped to $10.46

The new part number is for units built after June of 2010, there might be a fitment issue with a 2007 such as trucky owns. It would be a good thing to check with the parts counter just in case.

Mine still works fine, but the rubber boot has started coming off..... I can't figure out how to get it back in place....... The more I muck with it the worse it gets.

Sorry for the subtle thread jack, but it is related.

20912532 is the service part number for all years of the HHR.There's a note in the catalog that says to seal all the voids in the plunger housing with flexible sealer prior to installation of the spring.

Thanks for clearing that up Tony, sounds like they changed parts suppliers after the 2010 model year and the new one is functionally the same...but different...gotta love GM sometimes.

The new vendor probably chaged GM $0.05 less for the part an the low bid gets the work.

Part numbers can change for various reasons, most usually because of either a spec change in the part or a change of vendor. The later, updated part becomes the service part for several model years unless there was a radical redesign of the part to where the new part wouldn't work without major modification to the vehicle.

I've always wondered if that thingy would break. Not a huge issue (I guess you can still pry open the door) but a hassle for sure.
