Question gauges and warning lites going cazy

hi I'm new here so here goes. I have A 2011 hhr. I had no prior problems. I started the car and emedeatly I got multiple warning messages and the tach was bouncing ( the engine was idleing smoothly), I had no power steering. I turned the car off & on several times with the same results. I drove home and connected my code scanner but it says there is a link error. I retryed several times turning the car off & on but still unable to comunicate with car. Does anyone out there have any ideas?

Check your battery connection in the back. Pop the hatch, take out the plastic floor, and liner in the well, and check your battery connection back there.

And also the positive wire connection at the underhood fuse box.

All that, and check the condition of the battery at an auto parts store with a Load Tester. The battery is likely about 4-5 years old - and may be near end of life.
