So I assume that the SS has a different power steering motor? If so, is it interchangable with the regular HHR. GM must think the SS ps. motor is more dependable, since it is excluded from this "extra protection".

Nothing has happened in the US yet..... so far this is Canada only. If/When they do this here there may be different wording and stipulations.

It must be a reminder from GM, I remember when I bought my 06 used a year ago that they have had the steering sensor changed because there was a recall.

Sorry, It was one of those days, the bulletins will keep getting posted. Everything is good in my 'hood tonight so I got over today quickly.

If you read the middle of the bulletin it states:

So I would go get one whether the problem was present our not. Maybe not a special trip to the dealer, but when convenient.

Sorry I didn't go to page 16 to look. Will know better next time. Not every bulletin reads the same. Our letter says "General Motors is providing owners with additionalprotection for the power assist steering motor".Thanks for the tip about replacing the whole motor- will try to get that done when the car goes in.

I have a 09 SS, but I go through them all, from time to time to see if anything pertains to my SS. Been lucky so far, no problems. "Moon"
