GMs answer to my problems.....
So i got the call ive been waiting for for a while now...except it wasnt the person i was wanting to speak with...
im sure most of you have seen my threads about my problem HHR
Ive been dealing with a very nice GM customer service rep and returns my calls when she says she will every single time..good service there....i was talking with her about having my HHR bought back since ive had so many issues and she thought that i would have a good case for it...she said she would get with the District Manager who is in charge of all the buy backs and what not...
She told me she would call me Thursday night to let me know when he would call me...........She called me at the arranged time....she said she spoke with the District Manager and he said they would not buy back my car but felt that i would be satisfied with giving me the GM Extended warranty of up to 75,000 miles.....and that was my only option and the deal was final......I said how can it be final when he hasnt even called me...she said he does not have to talk to the customer to make his decision .....i told her i am very unsatisfied with the offer and would like him to call me and talk to me in person if possible so we can go over why he feels that i need an extra warranty....he seen the service record and figured they can cheap out by giving me more warranty...which in the long run means a lot more inconvenience for me......so now im waiting for a call from him...she said she would call me back on Saturday to find out if he called or not
after all the hell ive gone through with this car they go and pull this BS.....
anyone have any ideas what else i can do besides getting a lawyer which i cannot afford .....

I thought the lemon law states that if there is an issue that happens three times to the failing part, they have to buy it back. If you are just having multiple issues, that's what the warranty is for.

I really wish I could solve this for you but alas, the only thing I can suggest is find a lawyer who will do this pro-bono and sue them for his charges as well. If you can find one make sure to sue their butt for suffering and inconvience as well as the attorneys charge. This is one case, and I dont normally support the sue them attitude, that I would support 100%. Someone needs to get GM up to the plate and hold them accountable in this case, IMHO.. I wish you well in this and please dont think that all HHR's are like this but by all means Kick their A$$ if possible..

Lemon Laws
I think each state has their own rules for Lemon Laws. Like someone else said you need to talk to a lawyer.
try this link, it also has other state's lemon laws.

I ran into a problem with my wife's Pontiac Torrent. It was still in warranty but past one year old and couldn't use the lemon law as it is written in Pennsylvania. I went to the PA's AG office for a copy of the Lemon Law because frankly, I trust they will have an up-to-date copy (as opposed to a third party posting their version) Here is a link to The MO AG's copy of the Lemon Law.

Good Luck - I hope you have better luck than me.

wow
New-vehicle owners must report problems or defects in writing to the manufacturer to use the provisions of the Lemon Law. The manufacturer must be permitted a "reasonable" number of attempts to correct the problem.
Under the law, it is presumed that the manufacturer has been given a "reasonable" number of attempts to correct the problem if:
* The vehicle has been in the repair shop for the same problem four or more times and the problem still exists; or
* The vehicle has been out of service because of a problem covered by warranty for 30 or more working days since delivery, excluding delays that are beyond the manufacturer's control.
ive been in the shop 4+ times on 2 differnt occasions for the 2 differnt issues.....6 times for the water problem and 7 for the transmission.....
and all they want to offer me is an extended warranty......
thanks for the link....i printed it and will be using that when the district manger contacts me

Remember, Lemon Laws are between you and GM, not the dealer, Your dealer will not be a party of it except to provide info to GM.
I've been through this on another car.
Gather all of the sheets from each time you had it in for service for documentation, and then you'll need to write a letter to GM. I'd send it registered with a return receipt. Make sure you make several copies and give a set of them to each person you talk to. Also keep a log of EVERY person you talk to; write down date/time, name/number, what was said. This comes in very handy.
The regional guy is just going to tell you to put it in writing anyway.
Feel free to contact me. I had to get familiar with Missouri's laws on this the hard way.
