Got Some Things Fixed

Got Some Things Fixed
So last night I got the HHR out, and I noticed 3 things.
1. Front end clunk (for the 3rd time)
2. Headliner rattle near sunroof
3. Something sliding in the rear end
Went to the first dealer, Applegate Chevrolet in Flint. They looked at it, said everything looked ok and the headliner wasn't covered under warranty. Ok, well last I checked, the certified used warranty is bumper to bumper... Also, it clunks. Obviously something is wrong, I don't care if every bolt is tight....
So I left, and went to Randy Wise on the north end of Flint. MUCH BETTER!
Left it with them for a few hours... They ended up replacing the steering column (since that was about the only thing not replaced in the front end). Steering wheel is tight! Much better than it used to be, so that's a plus! Oh, and guess what? The headliner was covered under warranty! Turns out something was wrong or loose on the sunroof bracket. Fixed!
Lastly and sadly, the thing sliding in the rear end...turned out to be 2 flashlights that had got placed in the rear cargo cubby holes.... Needless to say I was quite embarrassed. I checked the tire area but not those...
Either way, car is all fixed and ready for Florida! Didn't notice any greasy prints on the headliner...but some may show up. I'd rather have the prints than the rattle, that was annoying.
Just goes to show how the dealer makes the whole difference...

The key often to repairing the HHR is a good dealer service department. So many people with on going issues are due to their repeated trips back to the same dealer.
You would think GM would learn to up their quality and not keep leaving those unsecured flash light in the back!!!! LOL!

The quality of the dealer service area personnel and knowledge is very important to getting a vehicle fixed right the first time. Not to mention the TSB that GM puts out on issues that have been found. I take mine to DeFouw Chevrolet of Lafayette, IN for all issues and servicing. So far, I have been very happy with the service manager and shop personnel in their work and willingness to work with me to resolve any issue. Also, their body shop manager and personnel are extremely good people to deal with. Quality of the service area’s is a reason why I went back a bought an Equinox for the wife.

Yeah, they know too that I don't have a dealer anymore, so it's smart on their part to be nice to me... I've been looking at area dealers for service and parts and such, and once I find one I really like I'll be likely to return to them when the time comes for a new car.... They are high on the list right now, don't know why I wouldn't go back to them from this experience.

Unfortunately there isn't really anywhere else to go. Hubbard in Monticello is really friendly, but I can't drive 1/2 hour for service. I'll be taking mine is for the rattling headliner soon. I have a few other nioses too which I doubt they will ever be able to hear, so they'll prob never get fixed.
Sorry, turned into a rant. Eric throw a spare set of gloves in the cubby, either winter or work, and put the flashlights inside of them. No more noise.

As for the rest of you, GROSS! Remember that thread on the Cobalt forum? I don't want that to be in my HHR!

We had to take Dorothy's car in to the shop today. She called the local Pontiac dealer and the service manager there is a *****, didnt really act like he wanted our business, so she called the dealership where we bought the car at and they were more than happy to help us out, even paid for a rental car for her to use while they have her car (and they also came from an hour away to tow it to the dealership). You have to watch some places, you would think the way things are that they would want every bit of business they can round up.
