Hard/abrupt shifting
OK, little help needed here. I started to have shard shifting on my hhr. Its a 2006, 2.4L. I change the intake and exhaust solenoids and still have the same problem. I do regular oil changes every 3k with full synthetic. I get no codes and the T/C is not on. Help me! lol

You should do a little diagnostics to find the source of the problem. Also, what is the mileage on your HHR ? Could be a transmission or TCM issue.
You state no codes. Do you mean no CEL or have you pulled the codes with a quality scanner ?

Yup, mileage on the HHR and when/if the transmission was last serviced would be of great help to us in helping you.
The list of conditions that cause a 4T-45E to slam shifts isn't that long, but wasting money trying to solve the wrong problem, well that's hard on the checking account.

I change the solenoids after reading this tread. I was having the same hard shifting, but no T/C light and no check engine light. I connected a scanner and there were no codes.
The mileage is 105k and I change the transmission fluid and filter about 6 months ago. It only does it when the engine is warm, so only after driving for a while.
Hope this info helps.
How do I check the hardness and pins. On the surface the wires do not look damage and pins inside look fine.

I'd suggest tis time to take it to a shop where they can use a good diagnostic scanner and run some tests to determine the cause. Trying to diagnose a problem such as this, that shows no outward codes etc., over the internet without hands-on diagnostics probably won't lead you to the solution.

Coolant temp is 190 to 192. Yes, I was thinking it was time to take it to the shop. I just don't have a shot I can trust. Took it to AAMCO and they told me the engine oil needed to be change. I had just changed it 3 weeks before. Took it to another shop and told me brakes needed to be done. I had just done them 6 months before. Dealer, sadly, has not been that much better.
May need to take it to a dealer further away that has been good in the past, but any suggestions would be helpful.
