Hard to start

Heah everyone I am having an issue with my 06 2.4 2LT at startup. Recently it seems I have to crank the motor for approximately 3 seconds or longer before the motor starts. Any ideas? Vehicle has 90,000 miles and I am set to replace the plugs and air filter in the coming week. Do I have another work order in my future?
Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated

Fuel system cleaner......

What grade of gas have you been running?

It sounds like the fuel pressure is bleeding down. Try turning the key on and waiting a few seconds before starting it so the fuel pump has some extra time to build pressure. Could be a regulator or the pump.

It might be the start of a fuel pump issue as Don06 has stated, see how it acts after the plug change and keep us posted. Even though GM says the plugs are good for 100,000 miles, the 60,000 mile plugs out of my '07 were marginal and the 89,000 mile plugs that came out of the '06 were toast.

I think I see a fuel pump in your future....

I look at 100,000 mile spark plugs this way. If you have 60,000 miles, then they are 60% used up. If you have 90,000 miles, then they are 90% used up. Just food for thought.

Do the plugs and air filter first. They are cheap(er). Then see if it goes away. Plugs could make it a little slow to start, too. With a fuel pump, you're looking at a bigger bill. Good luck.
