12,000 miles and on the 3rd set of rotors. The one's that the car came with, replaced front rotors @ about 1,000 miles for vibration, just replaced again @ about 11,500 miles for another vibration..............not too confident that these ones will last either

Dunno if my new minor problem is rotor or tire related, but i noticed a pulse in the pedal and also a shake in the steering wheel from a slow down from 55mph(4K on my SS currently, and still taking it easy on the whole car )
It was enuf in the wheel to notice it go back n forth when i took my hands off. Other than a lil bit of pedal pulse since i did not have the wheel shake in 24 hrs/200 or so miles since the first time i noticed it. Tho it did happen again this morning on the way home from a errand run (also from 55 'ish MPH)
Dunno if the bulletin offered up here includes mine (think it's born on date is March of this yr) or it being a SS or not .
But will take note of any further occurrences with this matter. My '03 Silverado drove me crazy from rotor wobble, even when i went to ceramic pads (at least NO pad dust anymore ) but the rotors got to wobb'lin a few K miles after tho (it's now my backup/farm truck now, since my new go to work/fun car is the SS )
Related question:
Since i do a lotta driving, and stuff like brakes/tires/oil changes come up faster than most(600+ miles a week) was wondering if the drilled /slotted rotors would be the way to go when the time comes (I know some form of ceramic pads are in order, cuz i REAL tired of brake dust on the rims now

My 08 had some lot rot when I picked it up with 104 miles on the odo. It pulsated pretty badly for the first 750 or so miles and I was going to take it in, but it gradually worked itself out, so I left it alone. Smooth so far with 2500 miles on it. If it comes back, which I have no doubt it will, I'm just going to replace them myself with good pads and rotors, since it's not a difficult job.
To be fair, every car I've owned with front rotors and rear drums has had this issue to some degree. My Cavalier, my Aerostar, my Contour, my Geo, they all had the front rotor issues. I was pretty anal about wheel torque, too, retorquing them as soon as I got home after any wheel service/rotation. Talking to people to tell them not to torque them incorrectly was a big waste of my time. Too many people just don't care enough to do it to the nth degree. We're in a small town, so not too many options to "go to another garage."
Most of them I fixed with good rotors and premium metallic pads. The brakes on the Aerostar were just flat undersized, way too small for such a large vehicle. I had gone to ceramic pads on my Cavalier and hated them. Really poor braking performance. I went back to Bendix metallics and it stops better than it ever did.

No brake problems here on my 06 with just over 18,000 miles. I did have a vibration just before the trip to Tulsa when we rotated the tires. Took it to Discount Tire and they rebalanced them for free even though I bought my rims elsewhere (Big O). We have all our tire work for our fleet of 6 vehicles done there though. They found that one of the weights had come off and told me wherever I had them balanced last, they hadn't even put the weights on in the right place on the rims. Last time they were balanced was when the rims were put on the car almost 2 years ago.
Only brake issue I've had was when removing the drums to paint them, it wouldn't come off so we used a crow bar and it broke off the edge of the drum...on Sunday to boot. Luckily we found a salvage yard that had a wrecked HHR with good drums and got one for $25.

I had my 2007 in at 7500 miles for brake pedal pulsing, warped rotors. They turned them on the car and were good for about 2500 miles. I took it back in May with 13000 miles and they replaced the pads and rotors along with the shield kit and I now have 19000 miles on the car and there is no sign of any pulsing. I live on a gravel road and I was told this is a contributing factor.
I am very easy on brakes so it's not a matter of hard braking causing the problem.
The only other issue I've had were the Firestone FireHawk tires which were replaced with Michelins about 10000 miles ago. The difference was unbelievable. From now on I will never accept delivery of a new car if it has Firestone tires. In 40 years I've been burned by them three times, the only times I've had Firestones.

No problem with mine at just under 2800 miles.I specified to have the dealer's prep department set the lug nut torque at the recommended 100 ft./lbs during the pre delivery inspection.I think this may be helping.
