Bad Rotors

This is the second time I have had bad rotors. First time they shaved them down I believe, not sure of the mileage then. So now I need new ones, at 34,000 miles. Can you tell me where I can get the best deal on rotors and pads. The shop wanted $528.00 to put the rotors on and brake pads. Thank You.

bad rotors

32000 miles. 4 rotor resurfacings and finally replacement rotors.
Had to really flog the dealer to get this done. Chevrolet was absolutely useless when I asked for help. They would only tell me that I had to get them resurfaced each time by the same dealer or they would never replace them.

Stay away from Covert Chevrolet service in Bastrop Texas.

Horrible service, no loaner cars ever, acted surprised when they got panned in the satisfaction survey and then didn't try to change anything to make it better.

put on a set of after market rotors at @15k, I was coming down out of the blue ridge in VA and almost hit the car in front of me because the breaking shook the car so much I swear it was hopping, scared the you know what outta me....put on slotted and I'm now just over 40k and it breaks like it should ! after fighting with the dealers and GM about getting running boards, I just bought the UPGRADE on my own and did the work myself....

Wink Yep....me to!

2006 LT 23K and braking horribly...just about dangerous if you ask me

I've got to take it in for the recall so might just have them resurface and see how it goes. I'm also having the same issue as many others with the OAT gauge incorrect temp readings.

I generally can't stand dealers and enjoy doing the work myself but I'll give it a shot: I'm in a new town so WTH!

Cheers

Well.........I don't usually spout off about my HHR, however, this REALLY pisses me!!!

My 2006 2LT has 11,000 miles on it.........and shaking like jello when I step on the brake.

Took it to the dealer......want to know HIS reply?? Hmmmm.....here goes....."We can't cover your brakes under warranty because you have aftermarket wheels on your car!!!" I said........"You ARE kidding right?"..."What in hell does it matter what I have on my car for wheels....it is the brakes that are bad".

Just a heads-up.....Customizing your HHR in some ways "Voids" your warranty...now THAT IS A CROCK!!

I noticed the shuttering from braking suddenly at high speeds (50mph or higher). Not a problem at lower speeds. Was going to wait until first brake change to replace rotors(2006 w/30,000 miles).

hey all Gm just released a new bulletin to inspect front brakes, and install new splash shields that are currently not installed on HHR's I don't have the TSB number handy right now but will post it as soon as I can get it. Under this tsb it says to replace the front brake pads, rotors, and install these shields.
