Hazard lights switch

Searched for an answer, but couldn't find anything. Is the hazard lights switch supposed to 'click' and stay in? When I push the button down the flashers work, but when I release it they stop. Is it a bad switch or is it something else?

All my switches click and stay depressed until you push the switch again to turn off the Hazards, sounds like your switch has pooped out on you.

The switch is GM pn 20934801

Try a Google search on that part number, GM list is around $26, but you can find 'em online for $12-14.

Thanks Mike, I was hoping for that. Had visions of a faulty microprocessor (BCM). Guess I'd better carry some duct tape until I get a replacement!

How often do you use it?
Only time I've ever turned mine on, it was by mistake.

What I have learned is this: when these 'handy' things are working, you may never need them. But when they are defective - opportunities will knock on your door! Buy the replacement part and the original starts working. After months of it rolling around in the glove box, you return the new part for credit. Mistake! You might not make it home before the original quits for good this time! School of hard knocks.
