It has a lighter, came with it when I got it a few years ago. Plus it has the 12v outlet by the rear seat next to the cup holder.

 

We quit driving it after dark, I pulled both relays #72 & #71, swapped them out, gave us just low beam lights at that point (although up to that point both hi and lo beams didnt work at the time)
One day I was driving it was getting dark and somehow bumped the light toggle switch to "hi beam" position, all the lights went out. I pulled over and then the brights came on. They worked all summer long, then just the other night it was super wet out and hit 40° through the night, the next am I went to town and the DIC for bright lights kept flickering (ive already changed out the multi function toggle switch as that's what Chevy said was "wrong" before.) Pulled in my driveway and again, kept flickering and I could see the headlight reflection off a window on my house and they were flashing between dim and bright. So, I pulled the high beam relay, swapped back with the low beam relay, then got zero headlights, so just put the low beam back, and kept the high beam out and now I have the DIC for brights on 24/7.

 

OK, the indicator is on, are the high beams on? Do you have fog lights? Did the car used to have fog lights?

My bet is somebody at some time spliced into wires, now you have either intermittent or shorted wires. Sorry, you need a professional to look at it (NOT A DEALERSHIP).

Does the cig lighter element stay in when pushed in? If not the receptacle is the problem. There is no connection between the head lights and the OBD/lighter problems.

 

No, the toggle switch is in the position to have just the dim light on. But, the relay for hi beam is pulled (only thing to keep the lights from running 24/7 and the relay was like crazy hot when I pulled it but all the rest were nice and cool to the touch.
And no, no fog lights never did.
Would anything for wiring behind the radio cause this? Last year with our issues, the car wouldnt start and the radio said "lock out" if I recall, but wouldnt turn on, then it quit. Husband pulled it.

 

That means the relay is stuck and/or there is a short circuit.

Yes wiring behind radio is factor for the cig/OBD. Also that problem says somebody has mucked with the wiring.

 

Check the label on the inside of the passenger glove box door, for the code for the smoker's package. Somebody here should know what it is.

If you have a lighter in there, but don't have the smoker's package, that could be part of the problem.

 

I'll look. I'm not sure lol the lighter was in there when we got the car and the person before us always had one in it and it always worked up until a couple months after we got it lol
