Headlights went out

Headlights went out
Had a strange thing happen the other night. I met another car that apparently thought my headlights were on high beam as the driver flashed the high beams at me and my headlights went out. There was a message on the DIC to the effect that the auto headlights disabled. I pulled to the side of the road, stopped, re-started the car and the lights worked fine. My first thought was that the oncoming cars high beams put out enough light to turn the lights off but the message on the DIC suggests otherwise.
Anyone else had this happen?

When you pulled the multi-function stick back, maybe you might have inadvertently twisted the headlight control to off. If you twist it back, it kills the automatic headlights for that ignition cycle only. I think I might have done this once before maybe. That's about all I can think of...

Well that's just freaky.
I know I have had occasions where I have my headlights on and I go to turn a turn signal on and the lights go out. I have to just jiggle the lights switch and they come back. Obviously a loose connection somewhere for me.
Hard to say with just one occasion.
