Hello from GA! With Some Electrical Issues Too!

Hi all! Used to be here when I was "involved" with a bad life decision and she had an 07 1lt in upstate ny. Lol, now I have found the one for sure and she happens to have this 08 2lt with an annoyance of "service esc" "esc off" and traction is off as well. 4 months ago a flat was replaced with a used 215/55/17 on the lf causing out of center steering. Got that corrected and I'm thinking of giving the car a labotomy......to see if it turns out to be something else

Welcome to the site, a lobotomy may help, but it's most likely the LF hub wiring possibly damaged with the flat tire.

I've inspected, not test the wires, nothing looked disturbed or damaged. And this has been a non pattern quirk, would do it several times a day, then nothing for weeks at a time. Currently the car sat at a shop for a whole week and I'm highly doubt it was tested and was told the car needs a abs module. We went for a second opinion at a dealer that knew no history of the problem. Explained everything down to the 215/55/17 which I moved to the rear to recenter the steering. 31/2 weeks later she was driving to work on a interchange ramp, @ 60 mph the abs reacted and almost put the car in the ditch and she said the steering was literally lock at a slight left turn

Also, the dealership said they didn't want us to waste the diag fee of $80 until the tire is replaced. They said that could be the whole issue. But I was thinking lobotomy because the car has been driven only about 15 miles since and it's a roll of the dice if she's taking it 40 miles to work in the am

If the computer throws a "soft code" (stored but the Check Engine Light isn't illuminated) our little trucks will actually disable traction control and you may notice hard shifting. It is a sort of safety limp mode it goes into if the computer has a stored code. I( would recommend having it scanned just in case it is something else entirely.

Ok, so....gonna try to compress these symptoms as much as possible.
08 2lt 2.4 w/ trifecta tune 152k currently.
The more I think of this issue with the "service esc/esc off & traction disabled, every week to day the car gives more electricity quirks. To add to previous mentions, this morning it was about 25 degrees, car was running on remote, yet when she got into the car, the heat was blowing ice cold! As she's on the phone with me, temp is up, dic temp is at 135 then she notices the gas pedal is non responsive, brake pedal is rock solid, all safety features disabled, yet she was able to shift to drive and radio came on no problem, lights were dim with reduced engine power & cel.
I tell her to restart the car & everything clears leaving the original esc and traction issue. Gonna try to get to the parts store to see if there's a code at all & have the voltage checked.
My curiosity is, could this in any way be a bad microchip in the key causing these issues mainly this morning and the esc/traction? The serpentine belt needs to be replaced & could the alternator be working fine at one time and not the other?? Because for over 8weeks esc issue has been scattered with no pattern just random on& off until the past week it's on all the time. Didn't do the lobotomy yet because she drives 40 miles to work and just 2 weeks ago, almost lost it on the highway with what I mentioned earlier. Don't wanna retrigger that situation. Throttle body was last cleaned back in October with a dose of seafoam through the intake as well. Fuse connection are all good & the battery was new as of 2011 ish. Any insight would be a huge help and I'll update this thread soon as I get the car scanned & do a voltage test later when the car gets home. Was also thinking of trying the other key to rule out the microchip

aboard Hillsnowdan, I moved your thread over into the "Problems" Sub-Forum while we ponder the symptoms your HHR is exhibiting.
