Unhappy HELP After a Throttle Body cleaning I have now high RPM.

I took my 2008 automatic 2.4. to a mechanic for a simple maintenance, it was the first time that It receives a Throttle body cleaning and after he deliver the HHR It has high RPM (1500) Most of the time I don't push the pedal anymore, it is going alone and when I change to Neutral or park It gets to 2500RPM. :s

The mechanic told me that the computer needs to be Reset with the GM original computer to help the TB to learn the original parameters but it costs more money that I have no

I want to know if someone have had the same problem?
I have read some issues regarding to TB problems after a cleaning, and possible solutions but I prefer to ask for some help to the HHR owners that is better.

I'd appreciate any support about this.

Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes, and see if it will relearn. Not sure if that will work, but it would be the first thing I would try.

Driving it should relearn the throttle plate position. The tech should have done this before he delivered it back to you.

Yup like they said. Drive it roughly 30 miles, and it should settle down. By the way, alot of pictures. lol

Hi All, this is an overview about what I have done,
I have driven 62 miles and nothing, I disconnected the battery 30 seconds and 1 night and nothing, I should mention that when I have disconnected the battery, the radio settings were not deleted, just the clock.
Another post that I saw was about a HHR tuning for a better performance, to get the new tuning, they mention that they disconnected and connected again some fuses. someone from here knows something about this?
I think the fuses were the number 42 and 43.

According to my manual, fuse #42 is cam phaser-turbo only.

Good call.^

If the ECU reset (disconnect battery) didn't fix it, maybe your mechanic left a vacuum line loose while doing the job. Also, I assume there is no Check Engine light? If it was the Throttle Position Sensor, that should cause the light to come on...

I had the Engine light on after a few miles. When I disconnected the battery, It turned off, but after a few miles it turned on again.
