HELP After a Throttle Body cleaning I have now high RPM.
#11
Take it back to the shop that did the throttle body clean and let them scan the codes and figure out what they did to cause the high idle and check engine light.

I've not completely disassembled the hhr so i'm not positive on it but most cars have an air idle control valve. This is normally on the throttle body and controls idle speed by opening and closing a small valve without needing to open the throttle blade itself. If this sticks then it will cause fluctuating RPMs or high idle. I've had issues with some cleaners causing the valve to stick.

I have some news, I checked all connections and sensors and all are ok, I cleaned the sensor that is after the air filter, the RPM are now better, the rpm are normal in D position, It just feels high RPM when I change from the D to the Neutral Position when the car is moving(1500 rpm),and are a little higher when I have the A/C turned on(2000), and in both cases the rpm decreases after a few seconds(5). And when the car is stopped, I change from D positon to the Neutral or Park Position and the RPM are normal.
I say are better because before in all cases the rpm stayed on 2800 rpms :S.
I think I have to give another good cleaning of the sensor to get the desired RPMs.
I have to say that I took the HHR to the mechanic and the computer gave the P0507 code. They checked the connections and cleaned sensors too(What I did for myself) and the next step is try with another Thorttle body , so Ill take the HHr 2 days again in revision .
I will publish the results just in case anyone else encounters the same problem.
Regards

There just isn't much in the throttle body to mess up with a simple cleaning besides the MAF sensor. You must have a sensor issue of some sort. The shop that did this messed something up as cleaning the throttle body is as simple as squirting throttle body cleaner into it good and cranking the car back up.
If you've replaced the throttle body then I don't know what else there is besides the MAF.

The MAF sensor is somewhat sensitive - be sure to not touch the "hot" plate on it when you clean it, or it could sustain damage. Hold it by the external connector and spray it with the appropriate "MAF cleaner" being careful not to even touch the solvent can tube to it. Don't give in to temptation to use another solvent such as that which you use for the throttle body, as other solvents are not safe for the plastic parts of the MAF.
