alot ot times its the air escaping the tread,, thats why I asked about concrete, it generaly is more pronounced on concrete..............as the tread wears it compresses the air more and it whistles.....noisy tires.

To be able to hear air escaping from tire treads, WOW, I'd love to have my hearing back enough to decipher sounds like that. I guess my car wouldn't be as quiet then, would it.

Too many years of having to "hear" what was going on in the eng compartment?? Everynow and then I actually turn off the radio...see if I'm missing anything....then turn it back on louder...........
Depends on the tires....you hear alot of things...when one listens....some people can't hear a muffler dragging...go figure

I'm wondering if my Snows are causing this. I won't know for sure until spring gets here.

Well you guys were right! Wheel bearings. ALL HAIL THE HHR FORUM. You guys are great, love this forum.
At inspection today they said wheel bearings. Took it to the dealer they said it was the right front and they will replace both side on Monday. It's nice to be under warranty but still a pain in the butt. 60 miles round trip to dealer over an hour each side I have to wait. I was asking why at 27,000 miles the bearings were bad and they said crapy Chevy bearings. So I asked what are you replacing them with, Chevy bearings he said. Then I said, so I will be replacing them myself down the road he said no they are guaranteed fo life just bring it back. I can live with that. Thanks again guys
