Then it's time for a compression check
Then a leak down test, if that is not conclusive.
Or just skip to pulling the head !
I always was an impatient sort !

You, impatient Oldblue, never!

Well OK, sometimes maybe.

But we're all starting to think the same unhappy thoughts Brandon, and things are circling around the head and head gasket unfortunately.

I noticed today as I fiddled with the block tester BEFORE the Thermostat Opens My coolant is raising up to the lip of the filler cap area (at 133f) when its removed on the upper hose overflowing a bit (slowly) don't know if its important or not.

If I was able I'd do it for you or better yet ! Teach you how to replace the head gasket! Inspect for a cracked head and change those things that get jealous if you don't pay attention to them, they decide to get your attention and break! Like the timing chain or the tensioner!
I suggest tear down because by all your explanations it is what needs to be done.
All these tests will point you in that direction, diving in an tearing it down will at least save you the cost of these test!
View it as a cost effective short cut.

It's worth what someone would pay as it sits..probably 1500ish. Probably worth 4-5 fixed and running again. Wish I was closer, we could have that done in a weekend.

Fixing it and running another 3 to 500,000 miles priceless!!
Yea, Dan if things were different here with Sweetie! I'm thinking road trip!!! But with my age comes logic, no wait that was from watching Mr. Spock in the 60's!!
I used to do crazy things like driving to Tennessee to help a bud drop a big block in his Vega to make it to a Pinks All Out in Charolette NC
