HHR headlight problum?

I have the HIDs 6000 h13 and love them have had them for at least 4 years, I always drive with my headlights on low been during daylight, yesterday while out during chores the grocery store, the drug store and another stop to buy lotto tickets was out about 3 hours each stop as always turned off the lights as usual, got home about 4 oclock pm parked the HHR in my garage and unloaded the stuff from the car and went in the house, went to go to bed about 10 pm and went to check the garage and found the headlights were still on 6 hours later but could not turn them off no tail lights just the headlights both the low and hi beams worked but could not turn them off, so I pulled the 2 realys still on so I pulled both of the realys still on, at about 4 am went out to check the lights were off battery voltage was 12.41 so had to jump stare drove a few blocks got home turned off the key and the lights worked as they should??? I have no idea why they stayed on all night.??

Sounds like a "latching" thing. Some diode (LED most likely) is sensing a current and latching on to it. I don't know exactly how the HIDs work, not stock good luck.

What a pain having to go to 2 stores to get rich quick.

The reason I suspect a diode is that they act as/on relays in modern computerized systems. The same reason the headliner LED will stay on if you don't add the resistor, an LED is a diode (switch) that turns on (illuminates) when it senses a current (not voltage) and then allows a voltage through it. I am thinking that there is some type of diode in the HID wiring, or the HID itself is acting as a diode. That is about the extent of my electrical engineering.

Headlights working great, went to the shop that installed them over 3 years ago said they would check them so for 4 days workinglike normal but there is a relay installed as part of the HIDS so if it happens again I will let them maybe change to a new relay.
