Well I'm glad they found the problem. Which engine do you have?

Same here in Atlanta. 101 when I went to lunch.
My Coolant stays at around 195 to 198.
I have never seen mine hit 200.

Any time you hear gurgling in/under passenger dashboard area its air in the engine coolant system moving through the heater core or trapped there for the moment. You do not want to hear it. If you do, it needs to be addressed.

After they fixed my coolant leak (on the 2nd try) I heard the same noise the next day. Instead of making the 18 mile drive to the dealer and going through the whole service appt routine I just bought a jug of 50/50 ready mix Dexcool by Prestone and topped up the system myself at the coolant lid on the radiator hose.

I was about to post that. You were loosing coolant. MAKE DAMN SURE no coolant leaked into the oil galleries.

same but different

I have a 2006 hhr. the tempature gage has been getting close to the red zone at faster/hwy speeds but seems normal at lower city speeds. the display says the coolant temp is at around 115*c to 120. I added some coolant thinking the rad was leaking but its now mostly on my driveway threw the overflow I think. rad fan also runs for 1-2minutes after engine shut off. If the temp gauge is high shouldn't the coolant temp go high?
Any ideas what the issue could be?

that is higher than usual. at least to me. mine is usualy about 198*F(approx 92*C). i would just keep an eye on it. if its not overheating, you should have no issue.

GuitHHR, where did you get that data? Little corresponds to the HHR settings.

I realize this is a bit old, I'm dealing with overheating issues as well and I'llpost in forum if I can't find anything bit what I want to knows it's where is that software from? I am a Software engineering andstudent and would love a diagnostic package that possible can transmit via bluetooth or usb. Thanks.
