HHR RR Speed Sensor
#2
Hey, Man ...(couldn't resist ) see this is your first post , so i'll let ya in on a few tips before everybody else plays "pile-on-the-bob" first thing to do is get any trouble codes pulled, auto parts stores can do it for free, just need the code numbers, (sometimes the descriptions can send you off on a tangent).
Next use the search box at the top of the forum page ("speed sensor" and/or the code number) to see what pops up. Sometimes it doesn't return an exact result, then you can post a question (prefaced with "I've used the search box & nothing really came up...) along with any codes you have, model, engine, any mods done, etc... Do this & most guys will bend over backwards to give you help. just saying "problem, need help" can get ya a rather terse reply along with the hints outlined above.
and in response to your inquiry, "nope" & "don't know"

If I understand correctly, the RR hub is probably needing replacement.
However, a low battery can cause that sort of thing, in my case it was RF. I have also noticed on my 2011 that the ABS & traction warnings pop up when I forget to reattach the MAF sensor (which is nearly every time I disconnect it).

IF that RR sensor really is the cause, check the connection and wiring before you do too much more, too. The sensor is part of the rear hub, so if it's toast, you'll need the whole hub like donbrew said. They aren't TOO expensive, but if you don't need one, you could save the $50 or so (I got 2 for about $85 recently).

If you got "Cause RT Rear speed sensor and harness" from an ABS code reader, they are much more specific than that. It tells you which lead and if the reluctor is bad. So you need to get the exact code number to do any diagnosing.
