Gee CH, I feel bad for ya. Our sandy beaches look out onto real salt water (ocean) and if you look really hard, Ireland and England.

Mine didn't have any problems with the alighment with the stock suspension so yours is probably out a bit, just have it checked at the dealer.

The stock mud flaps will offer some protection which is better than none at all. As mentioned earlier they're a bit short if your car is at stock height. But if your car is lowered they come quite close to the ground and are sufficient in that regard. However, nothing beats the combination of the mud guards and running board combo. Some folks are installing after market flat mud flaps since they can be installed in any position / height that suits your fancy. Personally I like the look of the factory mud flaps because they are molded and contoured to blend with the body lines. But with that said, the after market flaps don't look trashy at all, and that's the way I would go if I didn't want to get running boards. -Dan

I don't have any problems with the car pulling. At least not that I have noticed.

And as far as the mudflaps go. I put the same ones on that CJ did. I believe that they are truck flaps and still getting some damage from road debris. I even put them a little lower in hopes to prevent damage. I am in the works of getting the running boards. If it is this bad now in 3 months, i can't wait til there is snow, salt and st on the roads

My dealer wants $600 for the running boards. I may add the mud flaps and see what happens. The dealer swapped the 2 front tires and told me to try it. They have also ordered a replacement mirror. I will keep you all posted.

Happy HHR Motoring!

I thought the HHR had radial tires on it??? If so why is your dealer cross-rotating them. My understanding is radial tires rotate from front to back but no cross-rotation. Ok maybe I am an old fart and not up to date on the latest tech etc. Just thought I would ask, for my own benefit as well

You're confusing radial with unidirectional tires.
