not sure if this is related..but i heard if you use seafoam to clean the engine like that you risk damaging the plugs and should replace them...but again im not sure if this is related, read this a while back and cant remember the full info....

if no codes, try pulling the hose off the tb and get someone to rev it up and see if its opening up like it should under some acceleration...if that fails, try to do it again, maybe while cleaning you may have dislodged some gunk
and i would also check the maf again to make sure its pluggled in securely..hopefully you didnt hit the maf on something, sensitive little buggers

Update.

Mistake I made was to remove the TB and open the fly. Best way to do it is to have someone press the accelerator while the key is on ON, but of course the engine is OFF, so you can clean in between. That way the computer knows where the fly is and when it returns to its clean position it will know where that is.

Computer seems to be learning the new position, but let me tell you it is VERY slow. Everyday it gets a little better. Don't expect that its going to like "Wow its all better now." Cause its not.

Its hard to mess up a throttle. Its easy to throw off the computer. I had the engine light turn on again for about 1/2 a day and then off again. Second time this has happened since I clean the throttle. I will have the code read tomorrow to see what that was, but I'm guessing that it was because of High RPM.

Will continue to report in a couple of days for those of of you that are dealing with this and for those that will come here later cause you did what I did. I see about a 5-10% improvement a day. I also noticed that multiple small drives (about 15 min) has done more than a long drive.

If you are ok with the car driving crappy for 2 weeks and not spend $110 for the dealer to relearn the RPMs, then wait. If it doesn't work for you, then you can still spend the $110 in 2 weeks.

Hope this helps someone.

You must do it different than me. I just open the butterfly with my finger, sometimes put a wood or plastic stick in there to hold it while cleaning. I have not had a problem.

My local GM shops charge $109 to hook the TechII scanner up. One of them tried to get it twice, one for Airbag reset and once for fob match on one visit.

I'm thinking that the physical removal of the throttle body when he cleaned it may have set up a "Correlation Error" between the TPS and APP, that's slowly resolving itself.

I don't know Don, there are times when I miss Quadrajets and HEI ignition systems, but so much for the "good 'ole days".

It never occurred to me that someone would remove the throttle body for cleaning. I guess I missed that in the OP.

Its not the removal that caused the problem. Disconnecting the TBS and moving the plate is what throws the computer off. Key needs to be on the ENGINE ON position, but engine OFF, press accelerator to clean in between and not manually move it. Then release the accelerator so that the computer can "see" where it now sits.

which could cause the gears to strip out, or if the plate is not returned to correct position it will re-learn the correct position after awhile.

I just stick my finger down the throat with the electrical connection intact key off. Done it several times on 2 different HHRs no problem.
Maybe moving the butterfly by hand with the key in run would cause a problem? Don't know nuthin'.

Don, when the throttle is dirty, my HHR had 90K of carbon stuck to it, and you clean it then it lays lower and the the computer has to relearn the new position. So leaving the key on ON, then the computer is monitoring the position of the plate. So, when you press the accelerator to clean in between and then release it when your done, then no harm. IF the throttle is clean and you move it around then it goes back to where the computer remember it being, so no harm.

I'll search for a video and post.
