How to Diagnose Strut/Sway Bar Issues
#12
My 2007 with 46K miles was clunking somewhere in the front end whenever I hit a bump, particularly when steering. I read the very helpful posts on this forum and took it to my dealer, suggesting it might be the sway bar bushings (and praying it wasn't some major steering column issue). They cleaned off some corrosion and replaced the bushings and brackets. My sweet little car is nice and quiet now. It was covered under the extended warranty, too.
Thanks for all the good advice, y'all. I'm sure the mechanics would have figured it out without my hint, but it always feels better to go in there with some idea of what's going on.

I've had noises in the front end of my '06... Had the sway bar links, struts, and steering column all replaced under warranty. Each time it would be fixed for a little while. When I parked it for the winter it was good...let's hope it's that way when I get it out!
