How long does it usually take to get parts in?
I took my car in to the dealership on the 20th to have it checked for an oil change, warranty work and the recall. They ended up doing the oil change and the recall, but had to order the parts for all of the warranty work. The list was a new intermediate shaft & column for the clunk, it was worded "the correct brake pads, rotors and splash shields" for the brake shuddering, the shield for the condensor/radiator to help keep debris from puncturing it, a new rear bowtie, a new driver armrest assembly and whatever the ordered to fix the weird rattle noise from the front suspension.
I called today because my phone has been acting up and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss their call (having been 10 days), and they are still waiting on the parts. The service guy said he is hoping to have them in on Monday. I know 3 days after I got the car I had to have my injectors replaced and the dealership that I got it from had the car for over a week then. Maybe I'm spoiled from my uncle always having done any mechanic work for me before, he always got the parts within a day or 2. Does it normally take this long to get parts to have work done through the dealership?

Hey Niki,
I don't know what the nearest warehouse is to your dealer, but in Dallas most parts are one day, since the warehouse is in Fort Worth (30 minutes away).
If the part is coming from another warehouse it is usually a maximum of 5 business days.
If the part is on national back-order, the parts department has to change the order to a SPAC case to get it quicker, but there is no set time even with the order upgrade.
I think the I-shafts are on national back-order right now. But I am not positive on that. If you can give me the part numbers I can see if any are on back order.
They may have all of your parts except one so you need to check with them to see if you can get them installed. Or if you want to make only one trip back to the dealer you need to wait it out.
