ok i bought a 08 2lt from a buddy that got it from copart as a run and drive no body damage just some dash lights on and check engine had trans code and abs light and trac lights and lock light on cleared the codes and drove it for a few miles and bam dash goes crazy gauges bounce around all the dash lights go on and off, power steering says service its nuts , so iv done a lot of work on it since and i still get the same gauge crazies ,

change the trans and converter
changed the steering
change the fuse block ,
greased all the connections that plug into fuse block ,bcm,tcm,inside and out ,
change the speedo,
added a ground
had my uncle clear it with a tech 2 scanner

i,m ready to just part it or change out the whole harness and brains also here is the funny thing now thats its so hot out its worse to the point the gauges go crazy then just go flat nothing but it will still run and drive but no power it will go to speed but it won't down shift and if u turn it off it takes along time for it to restart u hold the key and after awhile it will turn over and start , its a nice hhr blk on blk leather fully loaded

 

Try a newer known stronger battery.
It could be rodent damage to the harness or chaffed wires by the EVAP valve bolted to the head.

 

hey blue ,, its got a new bat as of today and same thing iv check as to rat damage and i don't find any , it also says lost com to the tcm and bcm on the tech2 which i don't get i would think it would stop running but it runs just goes crazy and the ac shuts down but i will look again at wiring thinking of changing the bcm and have uncle refresh it throw gm

 

steve if u need anything lmk small big , now the time for extras if u think u may need them not sure how much longer i have so i,m very giving right now ,,,,,
