Gee, I was going say "that looks like you have been using synthetic oil and it looks clean to me".

It does look clean to me too! The flex looks good

I run Castrol 5W30 full synthetic

if that cover is still off can you take a picture straight down from above the cavity over the front timing chain guide? Is it damaged or the upper bolt broken?

I guess I just don't understand the thick orange layer of whatever. Looks like someone ran it with deck stain...

This is what I can tell ya, approx 3 yrs or less ago the timing chain went , we purchased an aftermarket warranty when we purchased the vehicle so instead of doing the timing chain the dealership decided to put a new engine in. personally i didnt think they did that, rebuilds yea but brand new. paperwork states brand new 13 grand. this engine in my opinion never looked like a new engine. there has been crud and buildup all over underneath where as the one replaced was much cleaner. I know for a fact its not been low on oil at any time, couple times i went 5 or 6 thousand rather than 3 but since i read about how finicky this car is its been changed at 3000. i do not have a clue about that color, i have not looked insisde any other engines. the vvt solenoids are basicly new, when i say dirty they had some specks of crud on the screen very small amount ,cleaned rite off. From what ive seen online thats prertty common as well. I have used lucas with most oil changes maybe that has something to do with it. Unfortunately I didnt see these replys yesterday so its all back together. when i put ,y finger on the chain and pressed down there was no play at all really so im assuming if stretched or anything wrong i would of felt it. another thing is like today i just got home and drove 50 miles and the car felt good. what im talkimg about is not something i always feel, my wife says otherwise and she drives it much more than me.I took this yesterday but its a poor picture.

Neither of these are true, i know its been over due for a change but not by much. dealership did the oil changes until warranty expired.

Do you know about the oil life monitor? It tells you when to change the oil.

RedLine oil is actually red in color. Most syn that I've seen has a red/orange hue.

I honestly dont know if your being sarcastic or not. in regards to changing oil I said in the posts above i had done it every 3k to 5k miles. I dont think i ever went over 5k. That color I believe would be from using Lucas, I do not know of any other reason. while under warranty dealership handled all the maintenance, since then i went to penzoil where they swear by Lucas. thats neither here or there, will seafoam clean this? is this a problem? unless i missed it i feel like i got some critisism which is fine keeps life interesting but i dont think ive gotten much along the lines of help. on the second issue i posted service esc and abs light coming on for seconds than going off, could that be a bad or old battery? i havent replaced that since owning this car.
