Yes, it could. Have your battery load tested at your local parts palace.
As for additives, to clean out your engine, Seafoam, Mystery oil cleaned my 2.2 out. , I would just stop using the Lucas and not be concerned about the residual film , you change your oil and filter consistently, it’s going to clear up.

I watched a video about Royal Purple engine oil , the guy wasn’t thrilled with what it did to his BMW’s engine.
I had one of my race engines fail with Mobil 1 in it, that turned to a jelly like glob in the oil sump , and no oil , means engine goes boom!

i said in the posts above i had done it every 3k to 5k miles. that's fine if you want to change the oil more often. That's your choice. i dont think i ever went over 5k.
That color i believe would be from using lucas, i do not know of any other reason. While under warranty dealership handled all the maintenance, since then i went to penzoil where they swear by lucas. Thats neither here or there,
will seafoam clean this? don't know.
is this a problem? could be. Depends on exactly what it is. Anything that has that "pan baked in the oven too hot" look could be an issue.
unless i missed it i feel like i got some critisism which is fine keeps life interesting
but i dont think ive gotten much along the lines of help.sorry you feel that way. Remember. We're just folks on the internet trying to guess at your problem with limited info and without actually laying hands on your car.
on the second issue i posted service esc and abs light coming on for seconds than going off, could that be a bad or old battery? I havent replaced that since owning this car. if it's the original battery, then it's living on borrowed time. I would replace it just because of the age
xxxxxx

I don't see any sarcasm at all in any reply in this thread. Nor do I see any criticism.

I do see suggestions that you use the built in Oil Life Monitor (instead of wasting money and grief), stop using oil additives (that are just snake oil) and get a new battery (if it is old).
