I killed my HHR
I don't know what I did. I went to replace my passenger headlight bulb cuz it was out. Went to go and turn on car to make sure all is well and neither headlight is on. I try to turn on manually and still nothing. Go and take it out again and redo. Now all has gone to sh*t. Car will not crank. Left headlight is on, right bulb is off again. Try to put high beams,, no lights. Manually hold high beams, both lights on. Release, and now right low beam is on, left light off. I can't get both lights to stay on. It's either one or the other. Back to not cranking. I hear the fuel pump prime, no start. Place cables to see if battery is problem. Now front wipers are moving while cranking. Turn on rear wiper but won't turn off on it's own. Get my scanner and this is what I get. U2106, B0283 rear defroster, B1380, B2580 headlight high beam control circuit, B3715, B3811 rear washer relay circuit, B3948 LF frt turn signal, B3949 Rt frt turn signal, B1325, P0230 fuel pump control circuit, P1682 ignition switch, and finally U0101. I'm stumped. My mechanic says I probably fried my ECM. What do you guys suggest????????

Sounds like a BCM and/or ECM issue. You might try the disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes trick and try to clear some of those codes.
Question is, how did it happen? Did you somehow short a wire during your work?
1 last thought. Check the battery voltage and make sure it is fully charged.
(12.7 or 12.8 range) Low voltage can do screwy things to electronics.

I wouldn't think that you hurt the bcm or the pcm i agree you need to make sure the battery is charged and clear the codes to start with. I would also look closely around the head lamp areas for any grounds you might have disturbed when you were working on the head lamps. a ground problem could cause all of those codes.

On a lighter note... Walk into house. Open gun cabinet. take out shot gun. walk to car. pump shotgun. pull trigger.
This problem is why I would never replace any part on my own... I'm surprised mine still runs after replacing my rear passenger bulb.
I hope you get it to work again. Good luck.

LOL.... I had done the bulb change before but, I should have known some thing worse was on the horizon since it only lastest about 6 months. Anyway, I've been waiting for that call back, and it hasn't happened. So now I know it's really bad............
Worse case, cut my losses and just get a used SS..........
