I'm not sure if there are sensors in the airbox or CAI that measure pressure differential, but when I simply changed an air filter on my Cadillac CTS, it was hard to start and once started, would shut down.

I found that I failed to securely close one of the clips on the airbox, which caused air leakage after the filter. Simple problem, but it certainly is confusing when you first experience it.

Check that all vacuum/air connections are good and leak-free.

Ok.....I went and got a can of MAF cleaner, cleaned the MAF really good with several rounds of spraying it and then letting it air dry.....I also disconnected the battery for 20 minutes or so.....reassembled everything and like magic....it is running like a top! No more hesitation, plenty of pickup and no more rough idling....so hopefully this was my problem all along with the sluggishness that I have posted on here about....thinking it was the transmission the whole time....but she is running good and shifting much better now.....so I am once again a very happy camper!

Now if someone could answer my question about tire size....I am looking at maybe putting a set of 215/65R17's on the car....are these too big for the fender wells, will they rub? I desparately want a whiteletter tire on my car and this is the only thing I can find that has the whiteletters that might fit.....

Thanx....Anita

A 215/65R17 tire would be about 2-1/2 in. (64.5 mm) larger in diameter than a 215/50R17 tire. The widths would be the same. I don't know if the larger tire would be a problem or not, but I'd be concerned about it. As I see it the potential problem is that the tire would rub the fender liner when you bottomed out the suspension.

That size tire will also throw your speedometer way off. Your speedometer will say you are going slower than you actually are.

As for the white walls/white lettering i remember seeing a link in the appearance section some where, might want to do a search. I will do a little looking and if i find something I will post it.

this site has 225/55/R 17 white walls for $214 with a 1-3/4" white wall.

they are a little taller than stock, and will throw your speedometer off a little but not as much as what you were looking to go with.
