I was running sluggish, but it went away on next start?
So I was driving down some back roads, and noticed the car was behaving very odd. It was sluggish. When I'd let my foot off the gas, it would slow down much more rapidly than usual. It felt like it was shifting poorly as well. And the kicker, when I'd coast down to about 35-40mph, for a moment it felt like the brakes were applying themselves. It all freaked me out really bad.
But then I pulled over, turned the car off and back on, and now it's not doing any of that anymore. Was this some kind of weird car spaz? Should I be worried?
Before you ask, yes, the parking brake was disengaged when I was driving. Is it possible that even though I did that it might have been stuck?

Could be possible, but I’d check other systems, did the CEL come on?
What engine, what transmission, ABS brakes ?
I’m thinking loose ground wires somewhere, or low voltage at the battery.

Honestly, I'm about to tow the thing 600 miles on Monday for a big move, after that I'll worry about weird random gremlins.

As I indicated previously, perhaps a battery lobotomy will clear the issue.
Disconnect the battery negative cable for a full 30 minutes.
This will reset the computers.

I'll try that when I get home. I went and got the battery tested while it was on my mind and for being the OEM in an 06, it's apparently in incredible shape.

Your explanation of the symptoms makes me wonder if you accidentally had the Transmission Shift Lever in "I" instead of "Drive" ??
