Ditto! I'm not blowing up my HHR, I happen to love mine! In fact I'd make love to it if I could get it through my bedroom door!

A better way to cut power to the computer is at the fuse block-- pull the appropriate fuse or fuses to the computer. That way you don't lose your radio presets etc.

You`ve got the COOLEST ride on the road, got a couple problems, and you don`t want to drive 45 min. to see if another 'doctor' can take care of your ailment, you just don`t want your ride, period...

If you are that worried about a 45 minute drive, can you have it towed with your road side assistance?

To answer the first part of your statement.....no, I don't believe, as a group, they are junk. 2006 models experienced some first year assembly and engineering problems, which were largely resolved with the 07 models. Could they have done better...you bet. Are they JUNK...no. Am I satisfied....mostly.

Answering the second part of your statement....yeah, I'm getting tired of it. But, I easily "tire" over vehicles and purchase something new frequently (usually keep one vehicle for the high mileage run around). Which will probably be happening any day now.

If you're not going to bother taking it to another dealer 45 minutes away, you don't have the patience for a lemon law buyback. I'd be willing to bet you've somehow torn up the torque converter and the thing is locking and unlocking at speed, causing the jerking and rough shifts. Considering you've replaced the brakes, too, I'd say it's more likely you're really driving the hell out of the car.

Keep in mind, Chevrolet's going to look that car over pretty good if you make it through the buyout process and they're only going to give you whatever residual value is left in the car at this point. If you've abused it, they're going to find out.
