The 'negative equity fairy' definitely took a big chunk outta my butt - but I am still smiling when I make out the check every month. That's what's important. Like my brother said..." I'd rather pay more for something l like, than pay less, for something I put up with".

well the transmission is now slipping constantly and its feels like its about to fall out of the car while im driving it...its even worse in I gear...i called the service manager this morning...ive got an appointment for Wednesday morning...were going to see what can be done then...

Should i ask for a NEW transmission...not for them to fix the one thats in it now...or should i just politely ask them to get me into another vehicle...

I also want some advice on what needs to be done to attempt to get out of this car...im very very disappointed in it and would like to get out of it entirely...i feel that my 400 a month payment should be getting me alot better service and a nice car....
i was given the local gm number..should i call that number or is there any i need to specifically call ?

... there you go. I

would still consult an attorney that specializes in Lemon Law. One of the things about a Lemon Law buy backs is you may be entitled to interest payment refunds, tax and title refunds, etc. Also once this goes through the buy back process the title gets stamped as a lemon, in so many words. Since that makes it difficult to sell the car, the dealer may work with you so they don't have to have the title stamped.

But still, talk to a lawyer before you sign anything.

Well I can only tell you what I would do and its hard to imagine your frustration with this.

Yes on the new transmission, they do not have a good record on repair of your HHR..

Yes on the New vehicle, Point out to them their inability to fix your problems, nicely and let them know you will persue whatever it takes to resolve the issues including and not limited to getting a new vehicle or a complete buyback.. et.

Yes on calling Gm and be nice and explain to them all of the problems and the lack of the dealer to resolve them. Let them know , still being nice, that you are not satisified with the car and are giving them a final chance to right the wrongs but will not stop at getting this resolved. If they dont want to fix it then tell them you will never by another GM product as they will not support the cars they put out, and at the same time tell them you really like the car short of all the problems you have with it but you cant continue to suffer thru the problems with no solution.. Give them a few days to respond and if no response call them and ask to speak to a regional manager. Explain to him/her all of the steps involved here and be nice and see if they can help. If all else fails get an attorney and sue them. No pun intended, if they are this determined to ignore you then they dont want your or anyone else's business.. IMHO..

I hope this is of some help. Me for one, well I would be mad as He** and not sure I could contain my temper. I really hope you get resolution out of this The HHR is a fantastic car and I love mine even short of the problems I have with it (year one). but that may be because i have a dealer who works with me ..

Wow that sounds like a lemon to me. I have 29k on my 06 hhr and the only problem I had was the water in the passenger front which the dealer fixed first shot. I bought my hhr used so I hope I don't run into any of the problems I'm hearing about with brakes etc..
My tranny seems fine.
Good luck with getting new/ newer car. Seems like a high lease payment to me $399 mo? That's more than what I was paying per month to buy on 6yr loan.

so the transmission problem ended up being a bad ignition switch...go figure....now the car takes forever to start....this is getting old...to top it off some other rep called me and told me since the dealer told them the problem is fixed that they are closing the case....i was like wtf...i said its not fixed......and its not the check engine light comes on and off....and there is still the occasiional jerk when it shifts....plus the taking forever to start is old to....
