I think my hhr is a lemon

NO. It's not a rebuilt engine, it's called NEW engine--IN shrinkwrap from Goodwrench. DO NOT just let them replace the "head, crank, and bearings". That's getting a rebuilt engine in a brand new car. Hold them to the 30 limit too. If they can't get the car back to you in 30 days, make 'em buy it back.

I thought I was getting a lemon, but my two problems were minor irritants compared to you guys. Airbag sensor and no brake lights. (Bad SDM and BCM units.) I thought I was going to have the dreaded never-ending electical problems. But, it's been working great since those modules were replaced a month ago. Still happy I bought it.

what i would do is tell them to buy it back and get another hhr but let you order one your way.I would not let them run over me like that and put a rebuilt junk rebuilt engine in. because you did not but a rebuilt car . just my 2

Sorry, 30 day limit. Most lemon laws read that if the car has a failure that causes the vehicle to be out of service for 30 days, the vehicle must be bought back by the company. You really should look into hiring counsel for this situation. They're going to jerk you around as much as they can to avoid buying that car back.

It's necessarily the dealer's call on the repair. Now that you've invoked the lemon procedure, the DSM will come by and look at the situation to determine the best method to resolve the situation. That may mean replacing pieces only or a complete new engine.

Well the final verdict was that the dealer ended up putting in a new motor (complete). They recieved authorization on tuesday, new motor came in yesterday and installed this morning. When I left the dealer this afternoon they were pulling it in the shop to fix the window problem. They assured me this will not happen again and GM even gave me a extra warranty and 6 months reimubursment on my car payments. I should be picking it up tomorrow afternoon... wish me luck.....lol
