Well after getting my HHR back from dealer on Monday it seems as if they didn't get my radio issue fixed. When I put on the turn signal with radio off I hear static in my speakers. Once the turn signal is off then the noise goes off. I can now remove my key though so I don't think I will fool with the radio/dealer thing again.

Anyone know what causes this? The dealer said they reprogrammed it for the TSB dealing with Radio POP.

Ignition jamming, won't release keys!

I've had the something similar happen to me. Got home one afternoon, parked in the garage, put in park, and remove the keys, but they would not release!!
My fiance' came down, put the car in neutral (with the car off) then to park and repeated this a few times. Finally they came out! This happens a few times a day and is soooo frustrating!

Don't get me wrong, I love my little HHR, but my list of problems keeps growing!

Sever water problem
Car dies for no apparent reasons, happens every now and then, nothing consistent
Now the ignition jamming!!

What next!

Going in for servicing any time soon? While you see it as annoying/fustrating right now, there will be a time real soon when nothing you do will release the key. And you'll never know where that will happen! When it happened to me, I was at Disney, on a Sunday, and the valets would not keep the car. Took to the nearest dealer and made sure the acting manager did something to make sure the car would not be stolen.

This is not a problem GM can ignore.

I just had my Sandstone HHR in to the dealer for the same problem. The key sticking in the ignition thing was going on for 2 months but I couldn't find time to get it to the dealer. The dealer installed the new shifter assembly, and all seems to be good for now. I noticed that before the repair at the dealer , when I turned off the car that if I sat in the car eventually I would hear a click and then the key would release.

Had the shifter replaced in ours today. Brought it in at 2:30 PM and it was done in about 2 hours (Including an oil change!) I thought it would be in there overnight! Funny thing though, the part # shown of the invoice is 15828148? One number different from Don's. Wonder if there are different versions? This new one appears to be different from the original, but I can't say exactly why. I don't drive the HHR, I'm usually just the passenger and I don't spend a lot of time looking at the shift knob.
Hope that solves the key jamming problem anyway!
