My 24k mile 2010 HHR wouldn't shut off just a few hours ago and key was locked in. Have an appointment thurs morn. to replace the ignition cyl. under the recall. Glad it happened in the driveway. Do disconnect the battery ( neg side ) so it doesn't drain with key on. However... remember the rear hatch won't open with a disconnected battery. #10 metric wrench does the battery cable.

Was at Love Chevrolet Columbia, SC at 7.30.. I hooked up battery and ABS light.. traction control and ESC came up on display. I also had a RF wheel sensor that had been acting up. I waited on it and a woman in a Cobalt had the same thing happen.. I was out of there at 9.30 fully happy AND with a Love Chevrolet Camo hat to go hunting with. ( I won it at the Columbia Motor Speedway but had already went home ) that Love Chevolet sponsors.

I brought the Panel in this morning for the ignition switch recall. I was the first in line at 8:00 am .

After a cup of coffee and a couple of walk-arounds on a beautifully restored '57 Belair conv. in the showroom and a breif conversation with an eldery black gentleman who brought his 3 year old Corvette in for it's free oil change, the attractive service advisor Stephanie informed me that my Panel was ready!

Wow, Less than 1/2 hour. She said they were getting pretty fast at changing the lock cylinders.

Sleeper- Same key...john

Just got a call from my dealer to stop by and pick up my check. GM processed the reimbursement and credited my dealer....who in turn....cut me a check.

Yeah!!
