Unhappy

OK, called local dealer & they run my Vin, told me mine was not on the recall list..

I mentioned about the TSB special provision.. And was told my Ignition must be having problems for them to replace it..

Can anyone shed some light here.. I'm not having problems, but thought better to replace soon, & avoid any possible headaches.

Well the answer I got from the service manager at my dealer was, "well we don't know really, just kind of heard about it ourselves", so maybe Michelle at Chevy can shed some light on this for us come Monday.

Some official clarification would help, I can see your desire to nip a possible problem in the bud sleeper, it makes perfect sense to me.

Sleeper,
When I called dealer for appointment I told them it was sometimes binding up.( thats what my buddy that works at their parts dept. told me to tell them).
On the invoice she wrote "found ignition switch binding, replaced ignition lock cylinder per policy 12089"
Actually the new cylinder is tighter than the original! Hope this helps...john

Thanks John-

I was asking questions & service dept told me the ignitions do not have "here & there" problems..

They said when it starts going bad it is constant.. Which I think is BS.

But we'll see..

I got the recall notice last week and called to make an appointment. Rep was aware of recall and I drop it off Thursday. I had to go out and check to see if it would start yesterday Been riding the Harley every day.
