I don't understand something? If you haven't actually "bought" the car yet why can't you just get a different HHR. or was the dealer trying to hide the fact that this was a "Flood Car" and selling it at a much reduced price?

Pleeze..don't buy this piece of crap,It should go to a car crusher and be put out of it's misery. If it's been flooded, it will rust out including the drive train..
You'll go broke just trying to keep this car in a running condition!!

No sense even shedding another thought on it.

The good thing is you love an HHR, so..there is another out there for you!
Go forward and work the best deal you can.

The flood car is just a collection of parts, some useful, most not.
Shame on any dealer reselling one.

Hope to see you here in the forums with a new dry HHR!

She knew it was a salvage car, but she was getting it very cheap.

"the car has a Federal Salvage title- i knew this when i started looking at the car...but i fell head over hills in love...so i didn't let it bother me. "

:(

I feel like such an idiot!!
The dealer that i'm buying it from is actually my dad who bought it thru another dealer. We did not properly investigate the car like we should have. I'm going to talk to the dealer we bought it from to see what he will do. I'm just glad that i've been driving it and not buying it yet. Just wish i had figured this out before i fell in love!!! I guess the old addage is true " If it looks to good, it probably is!!"

Thanks everyone for being so nice. I'll pop in and say hi and keep you posted. I'll even post the VIN number so mabey we can help someone else from getting screwed with the same car!!!

I was just beginning to feel at home here!!! Now i'm a sad carshowgirl since i won't have anything fun to show at the shows!!! I'm back to driving my mini-van which i'm beginning to hate!!!

THANKS!!!!! You guys are the best!!

So your dad is a dealer? So it sounds like he is stuck with it now? Don't take this the wrong way, but I hope he's honest with whoever does end up buying the car.

Just curious, how much was this car? It seems as though you should be able to get a former rental/lease for a relatively good price. They should start popping up everywhere now.

Hey, if it's cheap enough, I'll buy it so we can strip it and drop a V8 in it!

My thought exactly!

With the 07 model year starting there will be lots of 06's to be had at a good price.
