Injectors and Cylinder Head Problem

I own a 2006 with 43,000 miles on it. Several times in the past two years the check engine light would come on with the TC and then go off. Last summer on vacation spark plugs were put in and solved light problem. Several weeks ago they came on and would not go off so took to dealership. After diagnostics he told me that all 4 fuel injectors had to be replaces (500.00). Had a strange comment - said 1/2 the original injectors did not work and I had a car that had those so I asked if they were covered under warranty and was told no. Anyway drove it 5 miles and lights came back on - now told Cylinder Head has to be replaced. Said lots of problems with these on the HHR and that this repair will be covered so back to shop Friday. My question is has anyone had this happen???

I'd get a second opinion.

my question is why does the head need to be replaced. sounds like they are just throwing parts at the situation. my dad had a mechanic like this. my dad was having trouble with his trailblazer idling so he took it in. he told him the computer needed to be replaced. close to 600 bucks for a new one of those so my dad took it to the dealership and the dealership said it was a bad spark plug. go figure.

GENERALLY....large dollar items related to the engine are not prown to failure. I'd bet, as someone suggested, your dealer is "throwing" parts at the problem. They really have no idea (but should) what the problem is.

Second opinion, from another dealer, is warranted. I bet it is something relatively minor.
