Installing heated leather seats
I changed my 2007 lt cloth seats to heated leather 2009 seats. I changed the hvac controls to one that has the seat heater switches in it. The plugs under the seats all went in fine. I verified that both fuses for the heated seats were already present and not "blown". The switches do not light up or seem to operate the heaters. I've tried them with the ignition on and also with the truck running. I did not verify any extra "prongs" inside the plugs. I'm wondering do i have to change the wires, or are they the same as wires from non heated seats? The leather seats are used, but are in excellent shape with little wear. Do i have to have the body control mondule "re-flashed" at the dealer to make these seat heaters function? Also- my "airbag needs servicing" light has come on as soon as i changed the seats. Any help would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you

Thank you guys! I already went over all the connections at the plugs, i actually unbolted both seats to check the connections. The plugs can only be inserted one way,and they connected smoothly . I gave all the connections a gentle tug to make sure they are "clicked in". I guess its off to the dealer. Hope he buys me dinner first.

Many, if not all of the parts involved with the Restraint system need to be registered in the BCM. Each part has it's own number that needs to be registered in the computer.
Unfortunately many GM techs don't know how to do it. The guy I took mine to when I replaced the airbag "brain" took 2-3 hours to do it because he swore that it was not installed, so he took my car apart looking for it. After he called technical support it was done in 10 minutes.

When you say,"each part has its own number and needs to be registered",are you talking g.m. Part numbers ? Would a g.m. Tech have to physically see the parts under my seats, and get numbers that way? This will be a learning experience for me.i just bought my hhr panel lt 07 a couple weeks ago from a nearby chevy dealer,so i'll quiz the service techs there. I'll tell you how i make out. Thanks again

No talking about a Unique Identifier number. The tech is supposed to be able to read the number with his TechII scanner and then place it in the correct register in the BCM.
Usually, if the "needs servicing" message is on that's the prob. That's what I had with the new brain before it was registered with the BCM.
The BCM programing may take care of everything. You have to tell them exactly what you need done like "program my car so the different year heated seat will work and BTW the Airbag needs servicing light is on".
Be aware that if your car was not available from the factory with heated seats there is a chance that you have wasted your money. The BCM may not have the necessary firmware.
