It is a roll of rubber with a paper strip on it so it will not stick together.

I have used it for many things over the last couple years.

You should be able to get it at a glass shop. There are other things that would work too but I had this and it worked fine. It takes very little to fix the console. So don't buy too much. Just a few inches would do.
Thanks

It sounds like it maybe coming from the parking brake lever. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Did you check the chrome molding around your shifter, mine was loose and could just lift it out.

Can you guys give me some more detail as to where to apply this rubber? Do I need to remove anything or take apart portions of the dash to apply it? Pics would really be helpful if it's not too much to ask. This rattle is driving me nuts and I know the dealer is not going to be able to fix it correctly, so I'd rather just do it myself.

I don't want the rattles to ruin my otherwise great ownership and driving experience.

Did you reattach it and how?

I just added some foam like the air conditioning you put in the windows at home. Works gr8.

That's what I was going to use, but I'm not sure where to put it.

One possible rattle area is the trim around the radio. Both my old 06 and my 08 SS were afflicted by that rattle. Look in the how-to guide area in the radio removal thread to see how to remove and replace the trim piece. Some sound insulation(furniture felt ) on the back of that piece where it contacts the rest of the dash helped many of the rattles in my car.

Outer edges of the clips that don't fit.

If you look under the under side of the console top it has 4 places that rest on the console base when it is in place. they rub and make noise.

I put the rubber [you can try the foam] on those places and it should fix the console rattle.

The 3M time tape will also work too just don't use a lot. You may need to remove it someday.

Thanks - I'll try to get under there this weekend.
