intermittene parking lights stay on & fast beep when leaving car
Hello HHR owners,
I recently purchased a 06 LT for my wife & have been having a problem lately. Last night she was stranded with a dead battery while she had our infant & 3 yr old with her so I need to resolve this issue asap
The parking lights will often not turn off when exiting the vehicle & the chime is fast. Also the dash lights will stay on. if I remove power it will often reset & work for a bit but then go back & forth at random & I have to just hope to be lucky. If I go back in & turn the key on & off it may reset if i'm lucky. Lately the auto headlights have been acting up as well & will just turn off while driving so I need to manually turn on the lights. I'm thinking it's either a bad connection in one of the multipin connectors or a faulting control module. I already had the thermostat issue causing the A/C to not work but a little wiggling of the connector solved that so... Any help in narrowing this down before I get taken to the cleaners at the dealer would be much appreciated
Also, the auto start has never worked, it just beeps the horn. I have activated it in the user controls already. I hear that this can be caused if there is a fault somewhere so that may lead me to something. I'm going today to see if I can have them scan the computer at one of the local auto parts stores as I see has been suggested & will respond with that info once I have it
Thanks in advance for your assistance

Welcome to the site.
That is a tricky one as far as electrical issues. Seems like you are on a good path looking for any loose connections.
There have been many posts and threads on this site that point to the fuses and relays working lose over time. Might try checking that all of those are firmly seated in the fuse blocks.
The auto headlights on these cars have always been a little sensitive. Yours just turning off sounds like maybe a relay getting hot and going bad.
No remote start? Make sure that your car is not a previous rental. Those rental units generally came with remote start delete.
