A 'miss' sometimes is a difficult thing to pin-point, but this leak should`ve been pretty evident, he did say leaking from the rear of the motor.
Any compotent tech. would`ve at least tightened the loose bolt or saw the broken gasket (if that`s the case).
I`ve seem shadetree mech. make better diagnosis than this.

I'm going to provide them photos this time. Perhaps I should also take a Sharpie marker and draw some arrows on the trans pan pointing to the gasket, lol?

I wish I knew how much fluid was in the trans now. Granted, what is in the pic is probably only a few ounces, but how much did it rain out going down the road?

Should have told them somthing is leaking under my car.

I don,t think I would have put the car in the air to look under it for a coolant leak the cooling system is on top. I can see upper & lower hose, heater hose plus with no press.drop on tester. why look at the trans. it says coolant leak. Again time is money to a flat rate tech. Remember the tech is only going to get paid for the repair on the work order. Very little if any for Diag. time

I think what happend was the tech put the press. tester on pumped up to test pres. waited the time [about 20min] came back looked no press. drop looked on floor, no [COOLANT] or other stuff and put it outside. Time is money when you work flat rate

You know Oneton....that's also a really good point. Probably why a lot of repairs are not completed properly AND REQUIRES A RETURN VISIT.

Tow truck is on its way to my house as I type, to piggy-back it (flatbed) to the dealer. Flatbed transport was the agreed method.

I echo that but also let them take however long(within reason) to fix this right the first time...

They said they would look at it tonight, since its their late night to 8pm. I told them however that I am concerned about potential damage from fluid starvation if the level got too low (which is why the pre-caution of flatbedding it to the dealer), so there should be a check that nothing was damaged or got excessive wear. I'm not betting on getting it back tonight. Hopefully tomorrow.

Hey the tow just came and got it. Just got done waving bye to it as it rode sadly away on the flatbed. Not how you like to see your two week old HHR going down the road

Hey, lone ranger....

ASK them for a FREE trans fluid change.....as a precaution!!! It couldn't hurt.
