Jack stands

I have jacked up my HHR at the correct lift point as high as my floor jack will go but it is not high enough to get a jack stand under the frame. I am using a pretty standard hydraulic 2 ton floor jack and jack stand. Do HHR's require a short jack stand?

Guess you didn't have a block of wood between the jack and car.

I went to the local sports supply store and bought a pack of hockey pucks. sometimes 1 is enough if 2 are needed I screwed 2 together and glued them.

They are really cheap a bag of them cost about $5.

I found a good place for the stands is where the front horns flatten out. The rear is a big challenge.

I'd suggest throwing that flimsy 2 ton jack in the lake, & get a 3 ton, it is not gonna collapse & lifts much higher.

And I have short 2x4 & 4x4 chunks of wood for any additional height needed.
