and a tip for you, especially at a dealer or at a major parts chain: you can always ask if they can do a little better on the price - they often have a little "wiggle room", and can knock a few bucks off. Hey, it never hurts to ask :)

One of the major parts chain stores up here do some major discounting on some items if you ask if they give discounts for xyz company employees - and from what I've seen they never ask for ID. (cough - _ordco - cough)

jmo....but I would wait for the OP to return and respond before providing any more help. He has NOT responded back to this thread and he had returned to the forum, about a day later, and asked a question in another unrelated thread. During that interim he had several suggestions to his original post which he did not respond to. Again, JMO, but he could be just an unintentional troll (needs answers, but just really doesn't care).

Although the responses provided may help others.

My 2007 HHR LS, which I bought brand-new in August 2007, still has the original battery, which shows no signs whatsoever of weakening. I have been warned that the party will come to an end, and probably unexpectedly, and at the least convenient time. I will be shopping for a battery this week.

My 2006 that was purchased in July of 2006 has the original battery also. I parked it for three months this winter and the battery was dead when I wanted to start driving it and I was expecting to buy a battery. An overnight charge brought it back and it's been fine for 2 months.

You didn't spend the extra $29.95 for a new Flux Capacitor? Well just try getting back from 1955 without one mongo, hope you live in a town with a clock tower that gets nailed by lightning pretty regular like.

Flux capacitor is on backorder, I have to go 3 months into the future to get it. I'm just afraid that if my ignition switch fails during the trip that I will get stuck in limbo.

Mongo.....you have air bags, so don't worry (as long as the ignition is on).

Joeymollo

Yesterday after charging bat over nite, on trickle charger, I drove around and unhooked negative terminal, when I stopped and had to leave lid open for any length of time, unloading etc... No problem starting. Don't think battery is bad. Short somewhere. Good thing...Service Airbag lite stopped going on.
