K&N Intake causing check engine light to come on...

You know he didn't even tell me the actual code number, he just gave me description on the reader which was fuel rich. I installed my k&n back on too buy he said it wasn't reading an air problem so who knows, maybe between the extra air from the intake with the 93 octane it's throwing a cel. It's just kinda weird that I didn't start having any problems until I started running 93 octane fuel and I've had my K&N since September.

The MAF is directly related to fuel being too rich or lean. It is one of the sensors that the ECU uses to determine how much fuel to inject into the cylinders. It can still be your issue but seams odd that it would be unless you have ran your K&N on there again with too much oil on it.

Especially since it practically new. Spray it down with the cleaner, rinse, once dry, reoil. The newer kits have a spray for the oil verses the older dropper style, which many overoiled using. Quick mist with the spray and let it sit. I always give them a good shake before install. I've never had an issue.
