You might need to charge the battery FULLY. These cars do strange things when a battery does not have SUFFICIENT charge.

Need to ask since you provided very little infor......

What year car, model, age of battery??

x2 what Snoopy stated. After a good overnight charge you should be good to go. Let us know how it goes for you.

Charging in 2 amp mode over night.

Snoopy and Whopper. I am slow charging it now. However I have been driving it to work.Good thing its only 7 mi round trip speed limit 25 all the way it is in lope mode im guessing. I think its in second gear. Also the speedometer is not working either. I sure hope its not a problem in the brain. Thanks for the help. I will let you know tomorrow. Thanks again guys.

Sorry but my opinion is you've got more problems than a low battery. The things you listed not working kind of sends up a red flag to me.
Especially the transmission not shifting. If it was in "limp" mode it should still shift although it would most likely have the hard shifting that comes with that mode.

Do you have a Check Engine Light on ? If so, you should get the codes pulled.

Continuing to drive it in this condition is not a wise idea.
To me it sounds like you may have shorted something during the jumpstart.
Not trying to point fingers but did someone maybe hook up the cables backwards for an instant until realizing the error?

Didn't realize he was still driving it like that with it stuck in first or second gear. OMG - that is about as bad as it gets.

Yep......based on your last post, something is "toast" (pun intended). I think you did something electrically/electronically to the car.

Now, be up front with us and MAYBE we can help. What did you do before during and after you hooked up the cables....be specific??

Being upfront

I accesed the rear compartment hooked the cabels up correctly. No oops like thats the wrong one or anything just jump started it, and then everything was haywire. No s peedometer ,although the tachometer still works,no outside temp display, power steering indicator shows up on display.Checked the fuse to that its ok. Check engine light did come on and transmission i believe is in 2nd gear. Reverse is fine, it wont shift to a lower gear even when done manually. Ugh sure would appreciate more insight i f anyone has it Thanks to all for getting back to me thus far.

Like I stated above. If the Check Engine Light is on, you need to have the codes pulled to help with a diagnosis.
We can't give you more "insight" if you don't give us the needed info.

And the code numbers, not a description.
