Keyless access

Anybody else have the issue that keyless entry doesn't work? None of the remote control features (lock, unlock, horn, remote start) from my key-chain device work. My first thought is that if there's a battery in the key chain module then could it be that the battery is dead? (btw--only have the one key chain remote control) I've had keyless entry on many cars and never experienced this and several people I've asked haven't either. I hope there's no issue with the receiver or the electrical component(s) of the car itself. Any advice or experiences you've had would be greatly appreciated.

99% of the time it's not the battery, but rather the battery holder inside the remote.

Poor solder job on both my fobs. The middle lead of the battery clip wasn't contacting the surface mount pad. I wouldn't call it cold solder since there was no impression of the lead ever being in contact with the pad. Of the 2 "prongs" on either side of the lead only one had enough solder to keep one of the clip in place.

Open your Fob and you'll see the issues I'm talking about.

One fob with the bad solder, the other holding up OK, but time will tell. My dealership says they know nothing about this problem and refuses to do anything about it. Say I can always buy a new fob and replace the others.

so i finally popped open the keychain case and sure enough the battery holder had dislodged from it's soldered connection. i pressed it hard back into place and it kind of stuck, so since i didn't have any solder supplies i just tightly wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the rubber gasket/key pad and battery holder....it works! i had to really squeeze the case to get it snapped back.....it's a temp fix until i pick up a solder gun

it's a bumper to bumper warranty item, isn't it?
