Latest in a Long String of Noises. Video Link of Sound Included

Here it is. About two weeks ago, I started hearing a rattling noise on the left front. It doesn't happen on smooth pavement. Just when you hit bumps. Had my shop check it over and drive it. They said all the bushings looked good and nothing was loose in the suspension. The shop said most likely worn/bad struts, and at 77,XXX miles I suppose that's possible. I have an appointment to get the struts replaced using a set of quick struts so that everything will be new. I used my tech and got a video where you can hear the noise as I'm driving. The first occurrence is at 43 seconds in. Not asking for a definitive diagnosis as I know that's impossible without looking at it. Anyone else heard this on their 2.4 though?

Found It!

I can cancel that strut appointment I suppose. I took a few minutes this evening and poked around under the car. I had noticed when I would brake that the sound would cease. I concentrated my search in that area. I found that one of the brake caliper bolts had worked its way out. Since it's gone, everytime I hit a bump the caliper is bouncing around. A trip to the auto parts store tomorrow and my problem should be solved.

If the shop you used couldn't find that missing bolt, it may be time to find a new shop.

Glad it was a simple fix/find for you.

No kidding! I'm glad I didn't shell out for a strut job when it was a missing bolt.
